Delegation from the Government of India Observes the Progress of the Oil Refinery Project

Ulaanbaatar, May 20, 2025 /MONTSAME/. A delegation from the Government of the Republic of India paid a visit to Mongolia on May 12-15, 2025, and became acquainted with the progress of the construction of the Oil Refinery Project.
The high level delegation from the Government of India, led by Special Secretary and Financial Advisor of the Ministry of External Affairs Shri Anurag Agarwal, included senior officials from the Ministry of External Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, as well as the Chairman and Managing Director of Engineers India Limited and the Managing Director of the Export-Import Bank of India.
On May 14, 2025, the delegation visited the construction site to observe the implementation of the project and held a review meeting with Executive Director of the state-owned company “Mongol Refinery” LLC Altantsetseg Dashdavaa, executives of the construction companies, and engineers from "Engineers India" Ltd. and “Mongol Refinery” LLC. During the meeting, the delegation expressed satisfaction with the completion and commissioning of EPC-I. The delegation also held a meeting with Governor of Dornogobi aimag Batjargal Ochirpurev.
On May 15, 2025, the delegation held meetings with Minister of Finance of Mongolia Javkhlan Bold and Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources of Mongolia Tuvaan Tsend, during which the two sides exchanged views on the projects being implemented with the financial support of the Government of India and discussed matters of bilateral cooperation. The two sides affirmed commitment to exert efforts to ensure the timely commissioning of the project and expressed readiness to provide all necessary support. On the same day, the delegation met with Secretary of the National Security Council of Mongolia Byambajargal Altangerel, Foreign Policy Advisor to the President of Mongolia Odbayar Erdenetsogt, and Economic Policy Advisor to the President of Mongolia Davaadalai Batsuuri, to discuss various issues on cooperation in the field of green energy and the timely completion of the Oil Refinery Project.
During the meetings, the Mongolian side expressed appreciation for the support of the Government of the Republic of India for the Oil Refinery Project, while the Indian side expressed gratitude for the warm and cordial welcome extended to the delegation during the visit.
