Mongolian Freestyle Wrestlers Win 29 Medals in Home Arena

Ulaanbaatar, June 2, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The first "Ulaanbaatar Open 2025," which is one of four freestyle wrestling tournaments sanctioned to award world-ranking points, was organized in Mongolia.


Among the 350 wrestlers from 17 countries, Mongolian wrestlers achieved exceptional success, winning 29 medals in their home arena. Namely, Mongolian athletes concluded the tournament with two silver, two bronze medals in classic wrestling, four gold, six silver, six bronze medals in women’s freestyle wrestling, and three gold, two silver, four bronze medals in men’s freestyle wrestling categories.


Female gold medalists from Mongolia were Honored Sportswoman P. Orkhon in the 62 kg category, International Master T. Enkhjin in 65kg, B. Khulan in 55kg, and E. Delgermaa in the 68kg category. Male gold medalists from Mongolia were M. Lkhagvagerel in the 125kg category, T. Tuvshintulga in 61kg, and B. Munkh-Erdene in the 57kg category.


Additionally, the Mongolian Wrestling Federation has obtained a three-year permit to organize the world-ranking “Ulaanbaatar Open” wrestling tournament in Mongolia.
