COVID-19: 41 new cases detected, total reaches 1349
At today’s daily briefing of the Ministry of Health, Head of Surveillance Department of the National Center for Communicable Diseases (NCCD) A.Ambaselmaa reported that 41 new cases of COVID-19 detected in Ulaanbaatar city after involving 16377 people in PCR testing.

Hay and fodder to be delivered to five aimags in severe wintering condition
According to the National Agency of Meteorology and Environmental Monitoring and the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry (MFALI), the wintering condition has worsened in Gobi-Altai, Umnugobi, Dundgobi, Uvurkhangai and Bayankhongor aimags. In considering the situations, the MFALI has decided to deliver hay and fodder to herders of these aimags within this month.

Blizzard warning issued for most parts of the country
The National Agency of Meteorology and Environment has issued a warning for blizzards in the eastern parts of western aimags, and in most parts of central and eastern aimags today on January 5, and in the eastern region tomorrow on January 6.

COVID-19 cases in the capital city reach 491
At today’s daily briefing of the Ministry of Health on the latest update on the COVID-19 situation in Mongolia, A.Ambaselmaa, a Head of Surveillance Department of the National Center for Communicable Diseases (NCCD), has reported that the coronavirus was detected in 22 people, all in Ulaanbaatar city, after testing 11,581 people nationwide within the past 24 hours.

Simple solutions campaign starts to call ger district residents to insulate their houses with materials at hand
Within the framework of the “Switch Off Air Pollution” project, the Simple solutions campaign has been officially launched in Sukhbaatar and Songinokhairkhan districts with a call to insulate your house with the materials at hand.  The aim of the campaign is to encourage the target group households to insulate their houses through low-cost simple solutions, and to spread word of mouth about the importance of insulation among the general public.

The amount of gold reserves contained in the ‘North Burgedei’ orebody of special exploration license field of ‘Ovoot Khyar’ at the Kharmagtai deposits located in Tsogttsetsii soum, Umnugobi aimag has been determined.

Children’s Fund re-established
On December 30, the Cabinet approved to re-establish Children’s Fund, designed for financing projects to re-build child and youth development places, such as Children’s Library, Children’s Theatre and cultural and sports facilities.

21 aimags to return to normalcy
A regular Cabinet meeting was held today, December 30, and discussed many issues, including the issuance of three resolutions related to the COVID-19 prevention measures.  Following the Cabinet meeting, Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the State Emergency Commission Ya. President Kh.Battulga awards top young scholars, engineers and workers
In aims of calling for the youth to be more involved in labor, creative industry, and scientific development, and supporting the policy on professional education and the preparation of personnel, the President of Mongolia annually presents awards to outstanding young scholars, engineers and workers leading in their respective sectors. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was decided to not organize the award ceremony this year.
