Revised Law on Courts aims to ensure fair judicial system
On January 15, State Great Khural, Mongolian parliament, adopted the revised Law on Courts at its plenary session. 50 members out of 52 parliament members present at the session voted in favor of approving the revised bill, which was submitted by the government in April 2020.

UNFPA and Rio Tinto Mongolia to establish four PCR labs in Mongolia
Four PCR labs will be established in Mongolia as part of ‘The Building the Capacity for COVID-19 Diagnosis and Service Delivery for the Most Vulnerable in Mongolia amidst Pandemic project’, funded by Rio Tinto Mongolia with MNT1.7 billion and implemented in partnership with Oyu Tolgoi and United Nations Population Fund.

At today’s press briefing on the COVID-19 situation in Mongolia, Head of Surveillance Department of the National Center for Communicable Diseases (NCCD) A.Ambaselmaa reported nine new cases in the country, all in Ulaanbaatar, detected after performing PCR testing on 9,115 people since yesterday, January 17.

Mongolian scholars have developed a test kit that diagnoses antibody mediated immunity against the virus in a person infected with the coronavirus.

Artifacts dating back to the Stone and Bronze Age discovered
Artifacts dating back to the Late Stone Age have been discovered in the territory of Tsagaan-ovoo soum, Dornod aimag. Specifically, over 700 findings have been found including bone beads, bronze knives and coins dating back  from the Late Stone Age to the New Stone Age, early Iron Age, the Bronze Age, Khunnu (Xiongnu) era and the Middle Age as well as fracture of clay vases with and without patterns, bronze arrowheads, bronze engraved decorations, iron knives and nails.
