Strict-lockdown extended by 10 days in capital city and two aimags
 At its irregular meeting held today at 5 pm, the Cabinet made a decision to extend the period of strict-lockdown in Ulaanbaatar city, Arkhangai and Selenge aimags, where the spread of COVID-19 still exists, by 10 days, until December 11.

Musk deer reintroduced to Bukhun Shar Range
As part of the ‘Ensuring tolerance and stability of Mongolia's natural environment’ project, the Ministry of Environment and Tourism and the United Nations Development Programme are reintroducing Badanga Khuder or musk deer (Moschus Moschiferus) - one of the rarest animals in Mongolia whose population has been decreasing over recent years due to poaching - to its previous habitats.

At the latest briefing of the Ministry of Health, Head of Surveillance Department of the National Center for Communicable Diseases  A.Ambaselmaa reported that 11,929 PCR tests were performed nationwide on November 27, resulting in the detection of 22 positive cases.

With a view to lessen the extent of local spread of COVID-19 pandemic, a nationwide lockdown is ongoing in Mongolia from November 11 until December 1, 2020, with nonessential businesses are told to close down.

Winter and spring preparations of agriculture sector 74 percent complete
At its regular meeting on November 25, the Cabinet ordered governors at all levels to speed up preparations of livestock fodder for this winter and spring and governors of some aimags to earmark funds necessary for delivering healthcare and other government services to transhumant herders and set up local transhumance management committees.

Vehicles submerged in Khuvsgul lake to be retrieved
In accordance with a survey made by some government organizations, there are more than 50 fuel trucks that have became submerged in deep water of the Khuvsgul Lake in Khuvsgul aimag of Mongolia since the 1950s, and 17 of them were retrieved at that time.

Coronavirus tests were conducted on 3301 people yesterday, November 24 in two laboratories of the National Center for Communicable Diseases (NCCD) and laboratories of the National Center for Zoonotic Diseases as well as Selenge and Darkhan-Uul aimags and 27 people have tested positive for the coronavirus.

The annual 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence Campaign for 2020 launches today with the theme “No More Violence: End Gender-Based Violence at Home, in the Workplace, and in Public Spaces”. The campaign is led by United Nations Populations Fund (UNFPA) and the Mongolian Government, with financial support from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) in Mongolia.
