According to General Election Commission, voter turnout of the Presidential election is at 66.54 percent with 1,318,511 people casting their votes.

Overseas polling completes with 66.8 percent voter turnout
Presidential election polling just ended. Meanwhile, votes of Mongolian citizens outside the country were put in the electronic machine for counting. The diplomatic missions of Mongolia in 33 countries organized the polling on June 10 and 11. A total of 45 polling stations were set up.

Voting ends in Mongolia's presidential election
Polling for the 2017 election for choosing the fifth President of Mongolia ended at 10 PM of June 26, simultaneously throughout the country. Three candidates – Enkhbold Miyegombo from the Mongolian People’s Party (MPP), Battulga Khaltmaa from the Democratic Party (DP) and Ganbaatar Sainkhuu from the Mongolian People’s Revolutionary Party (MPRP) – ran for presidential office.

Presidential election polls to close at 10PM
The Preliminary results of the  Presidential election 2017 will be projected through electronic visual display at the General Election Committee. The election polls will close at 10 PM throughout the country and each 1983 polling places will transmit the reports to General Election Committee’s server. Before transmission, the reports must be printed out to the observers. And once the reports are sent, the General Election Committee will reveal the results on screen, including the information of mobile ballot box votes.

2000-3000-year-old rock paintings unveiled
2000-3000-year-old rock paintings have been revealed in Bayan-Uul soum of Dornod aimag. Local people informed that small and big rocks with paintings on them lie horizontally on a path, not far from the center of Ereen bag /small administrative unit/. A working group was immediately set up and three small and big rocks with paintings were dug out. These kinds of rock paintings are rarely found in the territory of Dornod aimag.

Four more wild horses sent from Prague Zoo
Prague zoo of Republic of Czech sent four more wild horses or Przewalski horse to Mongolia, releasing them on the ‘B’ part of the Strictly Prohibited Area of Great Gobi on 20 June. Reintroduction of takhi  to Mongolia, the animal which was driven to extinction since 1968 in the country, has been implementing over 25 years. By now there are over 600 wild horses. As of the first half of this year, takhi population has been grown by 55 foals

The Mongolian Minister for Education, Culture, Science and Sports G.Chuluunbaatar and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Mongolia Raul Delgado Consepcion signed the Agreement on Mutual Acknowledgement of Tertiary Education Certification and Degrees between the Government of Mongolia and the Government of the Republic of Cuba.

48th Ulaanbaatar Cup opens at Khandgait
The 48th Ulaanbaatar Cup international boxing tournament kicked off yesterday, June 21, in Ikh Tamir Sports Complex, located in Khandgait village. A total of 121 boxers from 10 countries, including Mongolia, Russia, China, Bhutan, India, Singapore, Taiwan and DPRK are being challenged for this year’s Ulaanbaatar Cup.

Unemployed rate decreased to 9.1 percent
The unemployment rate of Mongolia reached an all time high of 11.6 percent in the first quarter of 2016 with 143 thousand unemployed people.  Within the framework of the Government’s policies on improving livelihoods and restoring the economy through creation of jobs, multiple job creating projects and programs have been implemented. As a result, the unemployed rate has reduced down to 9.1 percent with 115 thousand unemployed people in the first quarter of 2017.
