Earthquakes occurred in Khovd and Dornod aimags
On September 20, earthquakes were recorded in some areas of Khovd and Dornod aimags. Specifically, a 4.3 magnitude earthquake occurred at 4:37 pm in the place named ‘Toson Uul’, 57 km southeast to a center of Matad soum, Dornod aimag.

Total confirmed COVID-19 cases in Mongolia at 312
Over the past weekend, one new COVID-19 case was confirmed after 1,749 tests were done between September 18-20. The new case was detected from a 50-year old freight driver – Russian, who entered the country on September 17 through Altanbulag border point with Russia in Selenge aimag.

Charter flight from Istanbul brings 253 Mongolians
To prevent from the spread of COVID-19, borders of Mongolia have been closed since March to all passengers, including Mongolians, within the heightened state of readiness, and the government has been arranging charter flights to foreign countries to bring back its citizens.

Mid- and short-term policy document to be developed for the capital city
On September 16, a training was jointly organized by the Governor’s Office of the Capital City on developing a mid-term policy for the capital city in correlation with the long- and mid-term policy of Mongolia.
