Charter flight from Istanbul brings 253 Mongolians

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. To prevent from the spread of COVID-19, borders of Mongolia have been closed since March to all passengers, including Mongolians, within the heightened state of readiness, and the government has been arranging charter flights to foreign countries to bring back its citizens.
The latest repatriation charter ight from Istanbul, Turkey landed in Ulaanbaatar on September 19 and brought 253 Mongolian nationals. All passengers were directly taken to 21-day mandatory isolation.
The government has planned a total of 13 charter flights to bring back Mongolians from abroad this month, and 8 of them have already conducted repatriating nearly 1,700 people.
Following are future repatriation charter flights to be operated by MIAT Mongolian Airlines in September.
September 21 - Seoul-Ulaanbaatar
September 23 - Frankfurt-Ulaanbaatar
September 24 - Seoul-Ulaanbaatar
September 25 - Sydney-Ulaanbaatar
September 28 - Seattle-Ulaanbaatar
