Bill on state prize submitted
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ An advisor to the President on public relations policy A.Ganbaatar Thursday submitted to the Speaker Z.Enkhbold a draft law on state prize initiated by the President.
By the Constitution, a matter on creation of state titles, orders, medals and military titles is at discretion of the State Great Khural (parliament), but is still regulated under the rule on titles, orders and medals of the former People’s Republic of Mongolia, adopted by the People’s Great Khural in 1990 as well as the same rule adopted in 1999 by the 71st decree of the President. he noted. Bu this reason, the President Ts.Elbegdorj worked out this bill in order to make state prize awarding accorded with the latest necessities, concepts and fundamental principles of the Constitution, Ganbaatar said.
With 40 articles in seven chapters, the bill reflects clauses on criteria of awarding the prizes and medals, their sequence, and on making the rule more transparent in accordance with democratic principles. The bill also aims to remove economic content of state prizes and to make them more valuable.
