President Ts.Elbegdorj to participate in WEF annual meeting

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj will take part in the 46th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) to be held on January 19-23 in Davos, Switzerland.

Apart from out President, over 40 heads of state and government, as well as 2,500 leaders from business and society will convene at the WEF annual meeting under the theme “Mastering the Fourth Industrial Revolution”. Critical current challenges, such as security, climate change and “new normal” global growth and commodity prices, are among the issues on the agenda.

Participants include more than 1,500 business leaders from the Forum’s 1,000 Member companies; nearly 300 public figures and Members of the Forum communities, including Social Entrepreneurs, Global Shapers, Young Global Leaders and Technology Pioneers. Representatives from international organizations and civil society (NGOs, labor leaders, religious leaders), cultural leaders, academia and the media will also participate.

Mr Elbegdorj plans to attend a discussion themed “Global water shortage and adequacy: Accelerating world water programme” and a sub-meeting titled “Mining and metallurgy: Policy tendency” within the forum.

In frames of the WEF annual meeting, a measure called “Mongolian night” will be organized on January 22 with an aim to present economic and investment environment in Mongolia and its developmental goals.
