Mongolian Saturday to run at Royal Ascot
SportsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The six-year-old thoroughbred horse named “Mongolian Saturday”, which name clearly matches a popular Mongolian-Tibetan name Byamba, is to be challenged tomorrow for the King’s Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot of Berkshire, UK.
Mongolian Saturday is owned by a Mongolian businessman, the president of Max Group D.Ganbaatar, and trained by Mongolian horse trainer E.Ganbat. Mongolian Saturday won the Breeders’ Cup Sprint over five and a half furlongs at Keeneland in late October but has since suffered two defeats over six furlongs in Hong Kong.
King’s Stand Stakes has prize fund of 6.5 million GBP (9.2 million USD) and challenges excellent bred horses from all over the world.
