Deputy PM meets Japanese Ambassador

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On November 15, Deputy Prime Minister U. Enkhtuvshin met Masato Takaoka, Ambassador of Japan.

Deputy PM thanked for Japanese decision to grant a financial support worth USD850 million in the framework of IMF’s EFF. “It will be valuable contribution to overcome present economic difficulties within short period,” he pointed out.  

In regard with ongoing construction of new Ulaanbaatar International Airport in Khushig Valley, the Ambassador requested U.Enkhtuvshin to pay attention on completing works to be made by Mongolian side in time and intensifying a process of management-related negotiation.

In response, U. Enkhtuvshin said that the Government plans to discuss this issue and adopt a certain resolution in the near future.

He also appreciated the Ambassador for co-implementing many projects and programs on preventing and alleviating disaster risks. “Further, the implementation of the Economic Partnership Agreement and establishment of an agreement on Double Tax-exemption will be on focus,” he added.

At the meeting, they also shared views on bilateral relations and cooperation in security, foreign policy, economy, health and educational sectors.
