Minister Ch.Khurelbaatar informs on citizens’ budget

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister Ch.Khurelbaatar delivered a presentation on citizens’ budget. Citizens’ budget is a tool to deliver fundamental information on state budget and finance to citizens. It has significance to increase citizens’ and civil society organizations’ knowledge on budget, to ensure public participation in budget process, to monitor state budget management by citizens as well as to improve budget transparency and its efficiency.
Citizens’ budget introduction will be presented when the Government is formulating and discussing budget as well as after adoptation in printed and online versions. The introduction should be easy to understand and have attractive pictures and descriptions with less professional terminology.

The International Budget Partnership evaluates ‘Open Budget’ internationally with eight key index. In 2017 Mongolian index was above global average of 42.
