Morin Khuur international festival to be organized in July

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ World Morin Khuur Association will organize 'VI International Festival- Competition of Morinkhuur' that will be held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia in July.

The competition will be held in two stages among the Morin khuur amateurs and the first stage of the contest will be held in the Mongolian State Philharmonic concert hall on July 1. During the first stage participants will be playing the traditional long songs such as 'Durvun tsagiin ergelt', 'Uilganch sharyn yavdal' as performed by the People's actor of Mongolia G.Jamyan and State Honored Cultural Figure N.Dovchin. In the second stage competitors will perform traditional long songs 'Mandal Juujaa' and 'Balchin heer'.

The first place winner will be awarded with MNT 1 million with trophy, the second place winner will claim MNT 800 thousand and third place winner gets MNT 500 thousand. Also, two participants will be selected as special place winners and will be awarded with sponsor's prize and winners of the festival will be invited to participate in the Gala concert.

The World Morin Khuur Association was established in 2008 and more than 600 morin khuur learners, teachers, researchers, bands from Russia, China, Japan, USA, Korea, Germany and France have participated in the festival during the past years.
