Mongolian designer participates in Thai Silk Road to the World 2018

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ At the ‘8th Celebration of Silk: Thai Silk Road to the World 2018’ fashion event held in Bangkok, Thailand on December 1, Mongolian designer R. Otgonlkham successfully participated with her ‘Rinchin Yesui’ brand dress worn by D.Doljinsuren Tsend-Ayush, spouse of the Mongolian Ambassador to Thailand.


The event was opened by His Excellency General Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand in presence of guests including high-ranking government officials, members of diplomatic corps and representatives of Thai business circle and fashion world among others.


This international event was organized by the Tourist Assistance Foundation with the active participation and support of SHOM (Spouses of Heads of Missions) for the 8thconsecutive year. This year, 58 international designers took part in the event by designing dresses and suits made from Thai silk for 35 contestants of Miss Universe 2017, as well as for ambassadors, spouses of ambassadors and Embassy representatives from 48 countries accredited to Thailand. To make the show a great success, 3,500 meters of Thai Silk had been delivered to designers from around the world.


The highlight of the Celebration of Silk: Thai Silk Road to the World was a special appearance of the world-famous fashion designer Jimmy Choo presenting a pair of shoes made from Thai silk for Her Majesty the Queen Sirikit of the Ninth Reign.
