Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. ‘Selbe Goliin Ekh’ nature park is now open to public. By the decision of the Citizens’ Representative Meeting of the Capital in 2012, 2071.5 hectares of land, habitat of rare plants and animals that important to the ecosystem, were made a locally protected area under the name ‘Selbe Goliin Ekh’ (Headwater area of the Selbe River). Works to make the area into a nature park, where ecological education could be provided, began this September and it has become the first co-managed nature park of the capital city. The travel road en route to the area was done by MSM Group, while the nature park’s introduction and rules and guidelines were done by the international experts invited by the Ulaanbaatar Tourism Association.

At the opening ceremony held yesterday, Head of the Environmental Department of the capital E.Battulga highlighted that one of the duties for the nature park visitors is to carefully read the safety instructions as there are wild animals in the area.
