70 percent of country covered with snow

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ As reported by the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry last week, about 70 percent of the country was covered with snow.
In particular, snow depth of 1-24 cm recorded in Bayan-Ulgii, Uvs, Khovd, Zavkhan, Gobi-Altai, Bayankhongor, Khuvsgul, Uvurkhangai, Bulgan, Umnugobi, Dundgobi, and Dornogobi aimags, and western parts of Selenge aimag, east west and western parts of Tuv aimag, southwest and northern parts of Khentii aimag, southern parts of Sukhbaatar aimag, and northern parts of Dornod aimag.
Depths of snow around 24 cm was recorded as the deepest in Zuungobi of Uvs aimag, followed by 20cm in Ulaangom, Khyargas and Malchin soum of Uvs aimag, 19 cm in Baruunturuun soum, 16 cm in Bayantes soum of Zavkhan aimag, 15 cm in Khatgal soum of Khuvsgul aimag and 14 cm in Uliastai and Tsagaankhairkhan soum of Zavkhan aimag respectively.
