‘Golden Autumn-2019’ croquis exhibition on display

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. From October 25 to 31, second annual croquis exhibition ‘Golden Autumn-2019’ co-organized by the Mongolian National Art Gallery and Mongolian Fine Arts Association is on public view within the framework of the Free Space project by the government's Culture and Arts Department.


More than 200 paintings drawn by Mongolian painters during their travel together with international artists through Chinese and Russian art events are being displayed at the exhibition. The croquis paintings of natural landscape are created by various techniques and materials such as water and oil paints, pastel and line drawing. 


Prior to drawing croquis, artists conduct research and seek to explore artistic expressions of their works, learning about things, life and nature. Prominent artists of Mongolia occasionally travel across Mongolia to seek inspirations and perform their works while organizing workshops on croquis arts to local artists. In this frame, this year, on October 28, artist O.Sosor to hold a lecture on ‘Significance of croquis’ and on October 31, awardee of the Union of Mongolian Artist D.Bulganuya will host ‘Portrait Croquis’ master class.
