President’s Envoy addresses International Forum for Northern Economic Cooperation

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On December 4-5, the Presidential Committee on Northern Economic Cooperation of the Republic of Korea hosted ‘International Forum for Northern Economic Cooperation’ in Seoul, bringing together government delegates, scholars, representatives from international financial organizations, Asian Development Bank and Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank. 


The forum touched on a wide array of issues, current state and future trend of regional economic integrations, New Northern Policy initiated by South Korean President Moon Jae-in, multipartite cooperation, financial, investment, infrastructure, logistics and advanced industrial partnership. 


B.Byambasaikhan, Special Envoy of the President of Mongolia on Regional Energy Cooperation took part in the forum, delivering a presentation at the plenary session. In his speech, Mr. B.Byambasaikhan introduced in depth about the Northeast Asian energy commerce network, necessities of conducting technical and economic feasibility studies of investment projects, electricity generation, transmission and trading. He pointed out the ample opportunities of Mongolia supplying reliable electricity to regional countries at a reasonable price.
