Coronavirus to be diagnosed in six hospitals

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ As of today, April 2, no new cases of COVID-19 infection recorded in the country. The total number of imported confirmed cases reached 14 and two of them have fully recovered and moved to home-quarantine.


While, each one suspected case was recorded in Darkhan-Uul and Selenge aimags on April 1 and both of them were diagnosed with pneumonia. The suspected person registered in Darkhan-Uul aimag is a student who came from the Russian Federation. Since the student was in 14-day isolation, there is no close contact with him/her. The other suspected person recorded in Selenge aimag is a citizen who traveled in Turkey, South Korea and India and two persons who were in close contact with the suspected have been quarantined as well.


26 citizens, who previously arrived on chartered flight en route Tokyo-Ulaanbaatar and have been stayed in quarantine for the required period, will be discharged today from the National Center for Communicable Diseases (NCCD) and will be in home-isolation.


Repeated tests have been carried out on 273 people in total, including 192 in the NCCD, 42  in the Military Central Hospital, and 32 in Zamyn-Uud soum and they all have been tested negative for coronavirus.


Today a total of 2171 people are being quarantined in isolation facilities nationwide. The National Center for Communicable Disease has ensured its preparation to receive 74 persons for the next chartered flight.  


Furthermore, it became available to diagnose coronavirus infection in laboratories of five hospitals besides the NCCD, namely the National Center for Maternal and Child Health, Regional Diagnosis and Treatment Centers of Khovd, Dornod and Orkhon aimag as well as general hospital of Darkhan-uul aimag.
