/MONTSAME/ The American Chamber of Commerce in Mongolia (AmCham Mongolia)
held its October Monthly Meeting, Government Priorities and the Role of
Foreign Investment, with guest speaker Head of the Cabinet Secretariat L.
Oyun-Erdene.

Oyun-Erdene discussed ways to improve the business climate and attract
investment. AmCham submitted proposals for the cabinet action plan from 2020
to 2024: innovate governance for state-owned enterprises; fully establish and
stabilize the system of public-private partnership; continue to pursue the
third neighbor policy and trade agreements; remove redundancies and improve
the coherence of laws on foreign investment and taxes; and develop measures
to prevent the future greylisting of Mongolia, including measures such as
consistently implementing banking and financial sector reforms.
Head
of the Cabinet Secretariat L. Oyun-Erdene delivered a presentation on Vision
2050, the government's long-term development policy, Cabinet's action plan,
and the government's policy plan and ways to attract investment during the
pandemic.
L. Oyun-Erdene stated that Mongolia is a free market economy-driven country, but there should be perfect harmony between the state and private sector in terms of rights and responsibilities, and expressed his interest in cooperating with the private sector on developing and implementing solutions for business and investment climate challenges. |
