Environment Minister participates in 23rd International Riversymposium

D.Sarangerel took part in the opening of the 23rd International Riversymposium taking
place virtually on November 11-13, presenting Mongolian government’s policy,
actions and plans on water resources management
The management of the water resources is being held in
Mongolia by dividing the territory of Mongolia in 29 water basins. The
conference participants highlighted the praiseworthy water management actions
of the country including a detailed analysis of the water
balance of Tuul River Basin carried out by the Ministry of Environment and
Tourism in collaboration with the World Wildlife Fund Mongolia Programme Office,
University of Maryland of the United States and the Asian Development Bank.
The Riversymposium paves the way to start international
cooperation for the implementation of Tuul River Basin Integrated Water Management
Plan and improve the plan. There are also plans to introduce international experience to the management of other water basins
through the integrated management plan.
