Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On November 23, the cabinet convened for an irregular session and decided to re-distribute food products put aside for ‘School Lunch’ program of general education schools as well as food supply of dormitories of kindergartens and secondary schools.

The reserved food products will be given out to families with kindergarten and school-age children and in need of food assistance.

According to a survey by the Ministry of Education and Science, there are a total of 44,282 children (including 18,646 children of kindergarten age and 25,636 children of school age), who are at risk of suffering from nutritional deficiency and food shortage.

It is estimated that there are food products valued at MNT 3.7 billion, including meat, flour, vegetables, rice and others, available nationwide under reserves for the School Lunch program and for dormitories’ supplies.
