19 new coronavirus cases reported, total stands at 1,611

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. As reported by the National Center for Communicable Diseases (NCCD) today, January 23, Saturday, 19 new positive cases of coronavirus have been detected in the past 24 hours. 


A total of 15,071 tests were performed at laboratories of the NCCD, National Center for Zoonotic Diseases and National Center for Public Health in Ulaanbaatar as well as in Selenge, Dakhan-Uul and Dornod aimags on January 22. 


All new confirmed COVID-19 cases are registered in Ulaanbaatar city and are close contacts of previously-confirmed patients and people staying under mandatory isolation at quarantine facilities upon arrival from abroad or under surveillance. 


As a result, the total confirmed number of COVID-19 cases in Mongolia reaches 1,611, and 1,108 of which are cases of community transmission. As of January 23, 1,124 COVID-19 patients have been recovered.
