Citizens abroad to vote for presidential election on May 30, 31

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The General Election Commission (GEC) held its regular meeting on February 8, 2021 and made some decisions concerning the upcoming presidential election.
Yesterday, the GEC established a seven-member central commission in charge of organizing and overseeing overseas absentee voting for the presidential elections, as proposed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. As approved at the meeting, Mongolian citizen voters residing abroad are able to submit absentee ballot on May 30 and May 31 to appropriate Mongolian embassies, resident missions and consulates.
The meeting also approved a timetable for the upcoming presidential election.
The GEC had previously approved procedures and timetable for the by-election in the 28th constituency of the eighth parliament elections in Songinokhairkhan district of Ulaanbaatar city on June 9, 2021, Wednesday, the same day as the 2021 presidential election.
