Roundtable meeting takes place during St.Petersburg International Economic Forum

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. Within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2021) held on June 2-5 in St. Petersburg, Russia, a roundtable themed ‘Developing SMEs through Russian-Mongolian international integration and cross-border cooperation’ was held.


About 20 representatives from the two countries attended the meeting. From the Mongolian side, representatives from the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, the Embassy of Mongolia to Russia, and the Mongolian-Russian Business Council NGO participated in the meeting.


The event was officially opened with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between by Ts. Bolorchuluun, Head of the Policy and Planning Department of the MFALI and by A.I Isaevich, Chairman of the Board and General Director of the Federal Corporation for the Development of Small and Medium Enterprises (SME Corporation).


During the roundtable, the sides underlined an importance of bilateral efforts for the development of integrated and mutually beneficial cooperation between Mongolian and Russian SMEs, establishment of a value-added chain of processing plants, as well as promotion for SMEs cooperation. They also stressed the need to support projects to create innovative mechanisms for cooperation and information exchange, and establish infrastructure that promotes the fields of Mongolia's traditional medicine, medical exports and tourism. In addition, the Russian side handed over an application ‘Business navigator,’ designed to support the activities of Russian SMEs, to Mongolian entrepreneurs and proposed to organize a joint training.
