Khuumii and Morin khuur added to training program of International Institute of World Music

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. Khuumii (Mongolian throat singing or diphonic chant) and Morin khuur (horsehead fiddle) classes has been added to world music education and training program of International Institute of World
Music in Aubagne, France.
The educational degree course is being co-implemented by Johanni Curtet, a musician and
ethnomusicologist together with P.Usukhjargal, one of few female performers of khuumii in Mongolia, D.Mandakhjargal, Morin Khuur player, artist
D.Batsukh. The course is composed of a wide range of programs, including
khuumii, bamboo jew's harp, tovshuur, morin khuur, as well as short and long song,
traditional praise and legend.
