Labour Minister participating in 60th session of UN Commission for Social Development

led by Minister of Labour and Social Protection A.Ariunzaya are taking part in
the 60th session of the United Nations Commission for Social Development, which
is being organized on February 7-16.
At a plenary meeting on the second
day of the session, Minister A.Ariunzaya informed that the government of Mongolia
is giving special focus to implementing the 2030 Sustainable Development
Program, emphasizing that the Vision 2050 long term development policy has been
aligned with the sustainable development goals and that the 2020-2024 action
program of the government includes plans to reform social insurance, enhance
social welfare services, increase jobs, ensure population growth, expand middle
class, and improve quality of life under the policy.
The minister underscored that
the government is prioritizing employment support and social protection reform
and implementing the ‘welfare to work’ policy to increase efficiency of budget allocation for
welfare services and support target communities.
Moreover, to mitigate the economic
impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and support economic independence and
self-sufficiency, the New Revival policy is being implemented.
