Consumer Price Index Up Nine Percent from 2022

Ulaanbaatar, November 7, 2023 /MONTSAME/. The Consumer Price
Index (CPI), which measures a broad basket of common goods and services, rose by 9.0 percent in October compared to the
same period a year ago. The
National Statistic Office of Mongolia reported an increase of 6.7 percent from the end of
last year, and 0.3 percent increase from the last month.
The CPI had risen 9.0 percent in
October due to an increase in the following divisions:
-14.7 percent Food and Non-alcoholic
Beverages
- 6.4 percent Alcoholic Beverages
and Tobacco
- 7.4 percent Clothing and Footwear
- 3.3 percent Housing, Water, Electricity
and Other Fuels
-7.5 percent Furniture and Household Appliances
- 7.6 percent Medicine and Medical
Care Service
- 16.9 percent Restaurants and Hotels
- 16.8 percent Education
