Mongolian Swimmers Secure Two Bronze Medals at Asian Championships

Ulaanbaatar, 28, February 2024. /MONTSAME/. The 11th Asian Age Group Championships are currently underway in the Philippines, from February 26 to March 9, 2024. Among the 21 athletes representing Mongolia in the Championships, two swimmers claimed bronze medals on February 27, 2024.


Specifically, E. Enkhmend earned a bronze medal, marking Mongolia's first medal at the Championships, after competing in the 200-meter medley for the 15-17 age group. In the Final, Enkhmend finished in 2:11.24, achieving a historic success.


Additionally, E. Erkhes captured a bronze medal in the 50-meter backstroke for the 15-17 age group. Despite being the youngest participant in his category, Erkhes set the national record once more in the final, clocking in at 26.43.


Mongolian athletes brought home two bronze medals from the Asian Swimming Championships, marking an unprecedented accomplishment in the history of water sports.
