Adiyasuren Amarsaikhan Becomes a World Military Judo Champion

Ulaanbaatar, October 21, 2024 /MONTSAME/. The World Military Judo Championships was held on October 14-20, 2024, in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. 


At the 42nd Championships, around 400 judokas from more than 30 countries competed, with nine male and six female athletes from Mongolia. On the first day of the competition, Mongolian athletes gained four medals. 


On October 17, 2024, in the women’s category at +78kg, international master Adiyasuren Amarsaikhan won a gold, and the National Anthem of Mongolia was performed. Thereby, Ms. Adiyasuren became the World Military Champion. Since the 2024 Paris Olympics, the World Military Judo Championships is her first competition. 


Ms. Adiyasuren Amarsaikhan secured a bronze at the 2022 Asian Games, a silver at the 2024 Asian Championships, and two silver and three bronze medals at the Grand Prix and the Grand Slam competitions organized by the International Judo Federation (IJF). The 24-year-old judoka has participated in the Olympic Games and World Judo Championships. 


Moreover, in the men’s category at +100kg, the World Championships bronze medalist and Honored Athlete of Mongolia Duurenbayar Ulziibayar won a silver at the 2024 World Military Judo Championships. He previously gained gold at the 2016 World Military Judo Championships. Mr. Duurenbayar, a two-time Asian Games silver medalist, has secured silver at the Asian Championships, nine medals at the Grand Prix and the Grand Slam competitions, and gold and silver at the World Judo Championships.
