Ulaanbaatar, December 15, 2025 /MONTSAME/. During a regular briefing of the Capital city’s senior officials, information was presented on the progress of construction works under the “Selbe 20-Minute City” project.

According to the Capital City Governor’s Office, foundation excavation has been completed for 17 of the 20 buildings planned this year, and basement-level concrete work has been carried out for 11 buildings. Construction is proceeding on schedule, with the first phase, comprising 3,700 residential units, expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2027.

Chief Executive Officer of Selbe 20-Minute City Corporation, Baatar Ulaankhuu, said, “Overall construction is about 20 percent complete and is expected to reach 65 percent by 2026. This will allow the first-phase housing to be ready for occupancy in the third quarter of 2027. The average apartment size in Selbe City will be 61 square meters. The project is also designed to create a 20-minute urban environment, where residents can reach essential services, amenities, and activities within a 20-minute walk, bicycle ride, or public transport trip.”

As part of the development, Selbe City will feature 42.5 kilometers of pedestrian pathways, 9.5 kilometers of roads, and 19.6 kilometers of bicycle lanes. The project will also include three schools with a total capacity of 3,780 students and five kindergartens for 1,200 children.
