Interest Expressed in Exporting Meat, Hide, and Pine Nuts to Malaysia

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The Mongolia-Malaysia Business Meeting was held in Kuala Lumpur on December 7. The leadership of the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI), entrepreneurs, and representatives of 15 companies from Mongolia in the foreign trade, food, packaging, construction, and clothing industry participated in the meeting.

 

The Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Malaysian External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), Puan Sharimaton Mat Salleh, President of the Consortium of Mid-Tier Companies of Malaysia Callum Chen, Vice President of the Consortium Martin Ang, President of Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MICCI) Christina Tee and 25 entrepreneurs participated from Malaysia.

 

In September, the MNCCI signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Malaysian Consortium of Mid-Tier Companies to increase trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, connect entrepreneurs, and implement joint projects and programs. As part of the memorandum, the Mongolia-Malaysia Business Meeting was organized in collaboration with MATRADE.

 

During the business meeting, Mongolia expressed the possibility of exporting agricultural products such as meat, hide, and pine nuts to the Malaysian market. Moreover, it was underlined that Mongolia is willing to cooperate with Malaysia in introducing the country’s advanced technology and know-how

 

The Vice President of the Consortium of Mid-Tier Companies of Malaysia, Martin Ang, made presentations on the topic “My Experience in Mongolia,” Director of China and Northeast Asia Section of the MATRADE Naim Abdul Rahman on “Malaysia-Your Trade Partner,” and Secretary General of the MNCCI S. Bayasgalan on “Business Opportunities in Mongolia” at the business meeting.

 

Following the meeting, the representatives of the two countries visited the Malaysia Export Exhibition Center (MEEC) at the headquarters of MATRADE. The exhibition's uniqueness is to present the products and services of more than 500 Malaysian enterprises in an area of ​​more than 4,500 square meters throughout the year. This exhibition offers foreign entrepreneurs to find their Malaysian partners by visiting the exhibition and making direct contacts through MATRADE.
