President Kh.Battulga issued a decree on August 3 on appointing D.Dagvadorj and A.Gansukh the presidential agents. Mr Dagvadorj Dolgorsuren, the 68th grand champion of professional sumo, is being appointed the President’s agent in charge of Mongolia-Japan affairs. Mr Gansukh Amarjargal is being assigned as the agent in charge of Mongolia-Russia-China trilateral relations.

Hearing to take place at request of S.Zorig’s murder suspects
A court session of supervisory instance for suspects of S.Zorig‘s murder is taking place on August 4. Ts.Amgalanbaatar, B.Sodnomdarjaa and T.Chimgee were sentenced to 24-25 years of imprisonment in high-security correctional facilities as a result of the hearings conducted last December.

Two firefighting helicopters to be purchased with people’s donations
In order to support the works of emergency departments throughout the country, more than 770 individuals, companies and collectives have donated about MNT 760 million in times of nationwide disaster of wildfire. In the midst of July, wildfires were burning in 22 locations. National Emergency Commission received the donors today. NEMA Chairman Brigadier-General G.Arvinbuyan extended gratitude to those who helped.

Oyu Tolgoi achieves 88.7 percent recycling level, Q2 report says
Oyu Tolgoi released the latest edition of its scorecard updating its performance for the second quarter of 2017 on July 28. Oyu Tolgoi continues to work with safety as its core priority. The All Injury Frequency Rate stood at 0.27 per 200,000 hours worked in the second quarter, as the operations and underground teams maintain significant focus in building a strong safety culture across the business. In Q2’17, 141,800 hours of safety training was delivered to over 11,000 employees and contractors, reports ot.mn.

7,500 children gather for Asia-Pacific Scout Jamboree

Ulaanbaatar to host 3X3 Asia Cup 2017
The FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup 2017 will take place in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia on October 27-29 2017. Mongolia will host the second edition of the most important 3x3 competition for national teams in Asia and - for the first time - Oceania. The inaugural edition was held in Doha, Qatar on May 15-16 2013. This will mark the first time ever Mongolia hosts a FIBA 3x3 official event.
