National forum to be organized to reduce air pollution
At the initiative of the Mongolia’s President, a national forum on reducing air pollution will take place in Ulaanbaatar on October 23.
State budget amendment discussed
On October 18, the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Economy made a second discussion of draft amendments to the Law on 2017 State Budget and the Law on 2017 budget of Social Insurance Fund.
Mongolian scientists extract collagen protein from cow hide
Mongolian scientists have extracted collagen protein from cow hide. As a result of the pilot experiment carried out by the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, a protein containing 50-60 percent collagen was characterized from cow hide.
Mongolian and Ukrainian Olympic Committees signed MoU
On October 14, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed by D. Zagdsuren, President of the Mongolian National Olympic Committee (MNOC), and S.N. Bubka, Senior Vice President of the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF), President of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine and the Honorary Member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
NHRC working group works in Umnugobi aimag
A working group headed by N. Ganbaatar, a member of Mongolia’s National Human Rights Commission, is working in Umnugobi aimag on October 15-20, conducting human rights assessments and trainings.
Tribute paid to foundation of capital city
The 378th anniversary of the establishment of Mongolian capital city will be marked on October 29. Last weekend, Ulaanbaatar city authorities paid a tribute to the monument at Lake Shireet Tsagaan in Burd soum of Uvurkhangai aimag, where the foundation stone of the Mongolia’s capital city was first laid in 1639.
Agriculture Minister visits France
From September 30 through October 6, Mongolian delegates led by P. Sergelen, Acting Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, paid a working visit to France.
Hay preparation by herdsmen runs at 57.9 percent
In accordance with its resolution, the Government has assigned to stock up 30.8 thousand tons of hay and 11.7 thousand tons of cattle fodder for aimag's and soum’s emergency reserve.
Harvesting progress at 91 percent nationwide
According to a recent yield report, 212.0 thousand tons of grain, 112.7 thousand tons of potatoes, 73.2 thousand tons of vegetables, 35.6 thousand tons of fodder plants and 9.1 thousand tons of oil plants have been harvested. It means that the nationwide harvesting going at 91 per cent, reported the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry.
