The General Election Commission convened yesterday, June 25, discussing results of 2020 Parliamentary election and issuing a resolution to consider candidates, who gained most votes, elected as a Member of Parliament.

2020 Election: Ruling Mongolian People’s Party wins 62 of 76 parliament seats
Votes for the 2020 parliamentary elections had been counted and aggregated by early morning of today, June 25. As of the preliminary results, the ruling party in the current parliament – Mongolian People’s Party gained the majority or 62 seats in the 76-seat parliament, while the opposing Democratic Party won 11 seats.

As preliminary results are being updated for the 2020 parliamentary election, General Secretary of the Mongolian People’s Party D.Amarbayasgalan and other members have just briefed that the Mongolian People’s Party are winning 62 seats in the 76-seat parliament – State Great Khural.

The polls have closed across Mongolia in the 2020 parliamentary election. The results are being updated at this moment as ballots being counted at the 2070 polling places throughout the country following the closure of the polls where Mongolians voted to elect a new parliament with 76-seats.

Nationwide polls close after Mongolians voted today since 7 AM in the morning until 10 PM of June 25, today to elect a new parliament. Some 606 candidates, including 121 independent candidates competed for 76 seats in the unicameral parliament of Mongolia - State Great Hural with a four-year term.
