Facilitating transit and transport operation in crisis situation: Lessons learned from COVID-19
At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, expectations were that seaborne trade, including containerised trade, would experience a strong downturn. However, changes in consumption and shopping patterns have led to increased import demand for manufactured consumer goods, a large part of which are moved in shipping containers. The increase in demand was stronger than expected and not met with a sufficient supply of shipping capacity.

National consumer price index increased by 0.4 percent from the previous month
In August 2021, consumer price index (CPI) at the national level rose by 0.4% from the previous month, by 8.9% from the end of the previous year and by 8.9% from the same period of the previous year.

World Bank forecasts 4.5 percent growth in Mongolia
According to World Bank, Mongolia’s economic growth is projected to expand by 4.5 percent this year, nearly 2 percentage points less than previous forecast. As for 2022, it is expected to be 5.2 percent.
