Mongolia acquires results of geological researches in 1950-1990
Results of geological researches carried out from 1950 to 1990 on the territory of Mongolia and other related documents have come to Mongolia. The documents were being kept in the Russian Federal Geological Fund (Rosgeolfond) and the first part was transferred and Minister of Foreign Affairs D.Tsogtbaatar handed over the documents to Minister of Mining and Heavy Industry D.Sumiyabazar on March 21.

Memorial monument erected in memory of 17 mountaineers
A monument was erected on the way to the Asralt Khairkhan, known as the threshold for mountaineers, in memory of 17 mountaineers who lost their lives in a snowslide on the way back from Otgontenger Mountain, the highest peak in the Khangai Mountains on October 21 last year.

Women artists’ joint exhibition opens
On the occasion of the International Women’s Day, Mongolian women artists’ joint exhibition opened at the Mongolian National Modern Art Gallery on March 7 for the first time. A total of 38 women artists have displayed their 49 art pieces including  Mongolian paintings, paintings, leather crafts at the exhibition. The exhibition will run until March 16.

Mongolia’s greeting custom with khadag
Mongolians greet each other holding a traditional ceremonial scarf called khadag on Tsagaan Sar, which is mostly white in color. Between the 13th and 15th centuries , lamb skin was used in greeting. Since the spread of Buddhism in Mongolia, greeting with a khadag became a tradition among aristocrats and monks, and later among the general public.

Significance behind Tsagaan Sar food
Tsagaan Sar table is a unique mixture of food every household sets up. Tsagaan Sar serving begins with Tsagaalga, a dish of curd rice with raisin. The most important ingredient of the Tsagaalga is the traditional dairy product curd, in which other ingredients such as clotted cream, yellow butter, milk, flour, sugar and salt are added.
