Automated factory to stimulate reduction of air pollution
President Kh.Battulga visited a precast concrete panel factory of ‘Erel’ LLC. The company “Erel” renovated its old plant, BUK-1, with the up-to-date German technology and machinery in 2014, becoming one of the world standard factories. BUK-1 started its operation last December.
National program for Healthy tooth-Healthy Child
Head of the Medical Exchange Society Mizuho Nishino initiated the project and she is working as a project manager. The project will be implemented for 3 years and a team comprised of 3 dentists and 3 hygienists will arrive in Mongolia twice a year to make inspections and treatments of children up to six years old, the time when basic teeth infection begins and give advices on oral health to parents.
Best traditional script writers awarded
The 21st national contest ‘Foremost Traditional Script Writers of Mongolia’ finished on January 8 with an award ceremony held at the National Modern Art Gallery, where the best works were exhibited.
‘Nomadic Doctor’ selected as best documentary film
A documentary film ‘Nomadic Doctor’, directed by Mart Bira won the Hollywood International Independent Documentary Award in a category of ‘Documentary Student Short’. The documentary was also selected as semi-finalist in a category of the Best Woman Filmmaker and a finalist in the Alternative Film Festival.

Presidential prize of 2017 conferred upon outstanding young scientists
Today three young researchers received the Presidential Prize of 2017. The Prize was presented in the State Palace by the Chief of Staff of the Office of the President Mr. Z.Enkhbold. The Presidential Prize went to Dr. Ulziijargal Gurjav, a professor of the Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences (MNUMS), Dr. Uyanga Enkhnaran, a researcher at the Institute of Physics and Technology of the Academy of Sciences of Mongolia and Dr. Natsagdorj Battsengel, a researcher at the Institute of History and Archaeology of the Academy of Sciences of Mongolia.
‘Mongol Basalt’ Company enters into Japanese market
When Mr L.Ariunbold, Director of the Mongol Basalt company and Mr Kazuyuki Ono, General Manager of the Ulaanbaatar Liaison Office, Marubeni Corporation, discussed their cooperation outcomes of 2017, Mr Kazuyuki Ono highlighted that Marubeni Corporation successfully conducted technological experiments to produce fire-resistant thread and tape from basalt wool produced by Mongol Basalt company.
Ganjuur and Danjuur scriptures presented to University library
130 tomes of Ganjuur (also known as Kanjur) and Danjuur (Tanjur) scriptures were presented to the library of Mongolian National University of Education (MNUE) on December 8.
A water-resistant leather created by the Product Development Unit of ‘Darkhan Nekhii’ company is one of its best technological achievements. It was interesting to see fishes in leather aquariums in the office rooms of the company. Animal leather has good quality that it circulates air while being water resistant.
Mongolian memory athletes lead the world rating
Mongolia shows an absolute triumph as four Mongolian memory athletes are ranked in the first ten among over 4000 athletes in the world. At the World Memory Championship 2017 organized by IAM (International Association of Memory) in Jakarta last week, Mongolia’s national team grabbed 57 medals out of 90 in total in kids, junior and adult categories, taking 22 531 points in total.

Exhibition of Japanese woodblock prints
The Zanabazar Museum of Fine Arts annually holds exhibitions displaying from its fund. This time the museum is showcasing Japanese woodblock prints and paintings (ukiyo-e) under the theme ‘Sound of four seasons’. The artworks are being kept in the museum as a form of reproduction.
