Banking system in May
EconomyUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Outstanding loans amounted to MNT 11.4 trillion at the end of May, indicating a decrease of MNT 197.6 billion or 1.7 percent compared to the previous month and by MNT 744.4 billion or 6.1 percent compared to the same period of 2015.
Principals in arrears reached MNT 888.6 billion at the end of May 2016, which decreased by 22.7 billion Togrog or 2.5 percent from previous month, but increased by 288.0 billion Togrog or 47.9 percent compared to the same period of previous year.
At the end of May 2016, the non-performing loans over the bank system reached MNT 1065.1 billion, having decreased by MNT 8.7 billion or 0.8 percent against the previous month and increased by MNT 326.1 billion or 44.1 percent compared to the same period of previous year.
In the first five months of 2016, 46.9 million shares were traded with a total value of MNT 151.4 billion on the stock market. The securities trading turnover decreased by MNT 330.5 billion or 68.6 percent and the number of shares traded increased by 30.3 million or 2.8 times compared to same period of 2015.
