Mongolia and Kazakhstan to cooperate in railway sector

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On January 30, D.Ganbat, Minister of Roads and Transport Development met with K.K.Alpysbaev, President of ‘Kazakhstan Railways’ joint stock company (“Kazakhstan Temir Zholy”) and requested from him to train specialists of Mongolian railways to Kazakhstan.

At the meeting, Minister D.Ganbat underlined that Ministry of Roads and Transport Development is learning experiences from Kazakhstan including, its railway development, transit system of Asia-Europe-Asia route, activities of freight facilities at railway border point and transport and logistics terminal established at free trade zone near the border.

In turn, K.K.Alpysbaev said that Kazakhstan manufactures all types of railway facilities and equipment such as freight train by introducing new advanced technology in railway sector. "Kazakhstan today has 16 thousand 500 km long railroads and pays attention to the development in the sea transport. Thus, Kazakhstan will be pleased to cooperate with Mongolia in the areas of railway and sea transport", he added.
