State-run universities won't increase tuition fees this year

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Cabinet resolved Monday not to increase tuition fees for bachelor’s programs in the academic year 2017-2018.

During the Cabinet’s regular meeting on June 20, Head of Cabinet Secretariat J.Munkhbat reported on the results of measures taken to maintain the rate of tuition fee for Bachelor’s degrees pursued at state-run universities and colleges.

The academic year report of this year shows an average amount of MNT 1-2.9 million for tuition fees of bachelor’s programs in state-run universities and colleges. The Cabinet thus regulated to maintain the rate.

The Cabinet will work on introducing a specific financial program which will aim to cut unnecessary expenditure, realize financial saving and create financial reserve fund.

Moreover, the Cabinet will take measures such as facilitating flexible conditions for tuition fee deposit, and cooperating with Education Loan Fund and commercial banks on engaging students in student development loan services.
