US Embassy launches Responsible Travel outreach campaign

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The United States Embassy in Mongolia launched Friday an outreach campaign called 'Responsible Travel' in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The campaign aims to increase awareness on visa application procedure and promote a legitimate travel to the US through series of promotional videos featuring stories of Mongolians traveled to the country and abode by the local visa law and policy.
The launch event was attended by Jennifer Zimdahl Galt, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USA to Mongolia and Ts.Munkh-Orgil, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Last year, the US Embassy in Ulaanbaatar granted about 10 thousand visas to Mongolians, eight percent of whom overstayed their visas in the country. Moreover, twenty percent of Mongolian students in the US overstayed in the country.
Mongolia and the US celebrate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations this year.
