Energy efficient heating technology to be introduced in education sector

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ An agreement to launch the second phase of project ‘Increasing energy efficiency by improving budget investment’ was signed by the Governor’s Office of the Capital city and German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) on January 26.
During the ceremony, Governor of Ulaanbaatar city S.Batbold pointed out that the projects implemented in Zavkhan and Khovd aimags showed positive results in appropriately spending financing of development fund of locality, educating children in convenient and warm environment and strengthening governance capability.
The second phase of the project will be realized in 2018-2021 with funding of EUR 3.6 million from Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) aiming to reduce heat loss of schools and kindergartens in Bayanzurkh and Songino Khairkhan districts. Moreover, MNT 1 billion will be allocated from the Capital city budget as an additional fund for renovation of the school and kindergarten buildings, he said.
According to agreement of the project established between the two organizations, it intends to increase efficiency of budget investment through making management and planning policy of the Capital city's budget investment open and effective and to introduce technology to increase energy efficiency of buildings in education sector.
