Northeast Asian Mayors’ Forum- 2018 to be held on June 18-19

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Northeast Asian Mayors’ Forum- 2018 will be organized in Ulaanbaatar on June 18-19.
To be organized under the theme ‘Low Carbon City Development’, delegates from Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenyang, Huh hot, Moscow, Ulan-Ude, Irkutsk and Chita, Seoul, Busan, Suwon, and Tokyo cities will discuss opportunities to cooperate and share experiences under a key topic ‘Improving air quality and reducing greenhouse gas emissions’.
Deputy Governor of Capital city J.Batbayasgalan said that participants will exchange views on challenges caused by climate changes and priority issues need to be solved at the regional level, and Mongolian side will introduce project and programs on reducing air pollution and put forward investment proposals.
Moreover, the delegates will finalize the issue on establishing the Secretariat of the Northeast Asian Mayors’ Forum.
Ulaanbaatar city initiated the Northeast Asian Mayors’ Forum in 2014 and since then delegates from regional countries and their capital cities gather every year to discuss environmental, and socio-economic challenges and pressing issues.
