Visit of Prime Minister of Mongolia to Japan continues

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh’s official visit to Japan continues. In the frameworks of the visit, the PM has attended the 9th Mongolia-Japan Government and Business Sector Joint Committee meeting and a reception that was held by the Japan-Mongolia Friendship Society.

On December 13, PM U.Khurelsukh held an official meeting with the Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe. As a result of the meeting, the two sides made a joint statement on enhancing the strategic partnership between Mongolia and Japan.

At the start of the meeting, Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe congratulated the Mongolian PM on his first official visit to Japan after becoming the Prime Minister and highlighted that Japan attaches great significance to the development of strategic partnership with Mongolia.

Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh noted that developing strategic partnership and cooperation with Japan as a third neighboring country is one of the highest priorities in the foreign policy of Mongolia and expressed his gratitude in the Japanese PM giving importance to the relations with Mongolia by having visited the country 3 times. He then highlighted that the Mongolian side highly values the initiatives, ‘Erch’ and ‘Erch Initiative Plus’, which were previously proposed by PM Shinzo Abe, and express his determination in implementing the initiatives.

After the official meeting, the Prime Ministers attended a ceremony of signing the Memorandum of Cooperation between Environment Ministries of the two countries and held a joint press conference.
