Seminar on biodiversity and biosafety takes place
EnvironmentUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. In partnership with the EU Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Risk Mitigation Centers of Excellence Initiative, the National Committee on Biosafety at the Ministry of Environment and Tourism has been implementing the P53 regional project on organizing professional training to upgrade legal environment of the national law on biosafety and bioprotection in Central Asian countries since 2017. In the frameworks of the project, a training was held under the theme, ‘Biodiversity and Biosafety’, for the eastern region in Chinggis, Khentii aimag on April 9-10.
51 specialists in charge of biosafety, bioprotection and infection prevention from Dornod, Khentii, Sukhbaatar, Dornogobi, Umnugobi, Dundgobi and Govisumber aimags participated in the training, learning about legal environment of biodiversity, biosafety and bioprotection, operations of biosafe laboratories, infectious diseases, application of modern biotechnology, socioeconomic trends, bioterrorism, bio ethical issues, risk and risk estimation and countermeasures.
