Third Sustainable Livelihoods Project works in Uvurkhangai aimag evaluated

Uvurkhangai /MONTSAME/. Uvurkhangai aimag leads the country for the implementation of the Third Sustainable Livelihoods Project being implemented with the financing of the World Bank and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).


Previously in 2018, Bat-Ulzii soum of Uvurkhangai aimag led in the implementation of the project, which aims to enhance the operations of Local Development Funds of 330 soums nationwide, and improve the participation of citizens. This year, a soum named Taragt of Uvurkhangai aimag has also led in project implementation, putting the aimag at first place.


Officials led by Country Manager for Mongolia at the World Bank Andrei Mikhnev, SDC Deputy Director and First Secretary Benoit Meyer-Bisch, and project leader Ingo Wiederhofer worked in Arvaikheer, Bat-Ulzii and Khujirt soums of Uvurkhangai aimag to become acquainted and evaluate the establishments built with financing from the Local Development Fund.


The project officials evaluated the work done in Uvurkhangai aimag as satisfactory in solving the pressing issues of citizens, such as accessibility of electricity in new residential areas, building roads and bridges, and the construction work of extensions for schools and kindergartens.
