Election experience to be shared with India

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation was established between the General Election Commission of Mongolia and the Election Commission of India. The memorandum was signed by Chairman of the General Election Commission of Mongolia Ch.Sodnomtseren and Chief Election Commissioner of India Sunil Arora in Ulaanbaatar and New Delhi cities.


Within the framework of the memorandum, election bodies of the two countries agreed to develop partnership in upgrading election management and organization, sharing knowledge and experience on technical development, conducting training for their staff as well as exchanging documents, information and experience related to election system, voter education and increasing engagement of women, ethnic minorities and citizens with disabilities in election.


The Election Commission of India is an autonomous constitutional authority responsible for administering election processess in India. The body administers elections to the Lok Sabha (House of the People), Rajya Sabha (Council of States), state Legislative Assemblies, state legislative Councils and the offices of the President and Vice President of the country. And the Election Commission is serving as chair of the Association of World Election Bodies which joins 115 election bodies of 106 countries.
