Mongolian Para Judo Team Wins Bronze Medal at IBSA Judo World Championships

Ulaanbaatar, May 16, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The 2025 International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) World Judo Championships in Astana, Kazakhstan, concluded with team wrestling competitions on May 15, 2025.
The Mongolian men’s team won the bronze medal among the teams from eight countries. It was the first time Mongolian para judokas claimed a World Championship medal in a team competition. Though the Mongolian men’s team lost the first match against the Kazakh team, they secured the bronze medal, defeating the teams of India and Thailand.
As International Master of Sport Turuunaa Lkhaijav earned the bronze medal in the women’s J1 category, 70 kg division. Overall, Mongolian para judokas are returning home with two bronze medals from the IBSA Judo World Championships, which is held every four years.
